Operation Theatres at Smita Memorial Hospital
Smita Memorial Hospital's surgical unit has seven state-of-the-art operation theatres equipped with the latest technology. An emergency operation theatre sits within the Emergency and Trauma Centre so urgent operations happen without delay, and a gynaecology theatre is integrated with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit.
On 10 August 2023, SMHRC became the first hospital in Idukki district to receive Platinum Grade Green OT Certification — the highest grade possible. The protocol, developed by Bureau Veritas, audits theatres against strict safety and environmental standards.
